THERE WILL BE NO TRAINING AT THE ARMOURIES THIS WEDNESDAY 16 MAY
ONCE AGAIN, DO NOT COME TO CADETS THIS WEDNESDAY!!!!! 608 DUKES will attend the Sunset Ceremony at the Royal Military College in Kingston on Thursday 17 May. A bus will leave the Armouries at 6:00 PM (Please arrive NLT 5:45 PM). Cadets must be in C-2 (Full/Winter) Dress. Bring the outer portion of the cadet parka. If you need a parka arrive at the Armouries early to be issued one from S/Lt Leadbeater. Cadets may bring a small amount of money for a snack stop. The bus is expected to arrive back at the Armouries about 10:00 PM. Cadets will have access to cellphones to contact parents if our return time changes. CADETS MUST BRING THEIR OHIP CARD! Congratulations goes out to Connor Ahearn who was promoted tonight from Warrant Officer 2nd Class (WO2) to Acting-Warrant Officer 1st Class (A/WO1).
Instead, Cadets will be attending the Sunset Ceremony at Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) located in Kingston on Thursday 17 May 2012. A sign-up sheet was posted this past Wednesday night, if you have not signed-up it will be assumed you are not attending! Cadets will be transported by bus between the Armouries and RMC. The bus will depart the Armouries at 6:00 PM (Please arrive NLT 5:45 PM). Cadets will be in C-2 (Full/Winter) Dress with Cadet Parka. PLEASE NOTE: Our return time is unknown as the ceremony run-time varies (Estimated return time is 10:00 PM). Cadets will have access to cellphones to contact parents to notify them of our return time. Cadets may want to bring some money to purchase a snack on our return to the Armouries. CADETS MUST BRING THEIR OHIP CARD!

This year's "Annual" will be held on Saturday 26 May 2012 at the Belleville Armouries. Guests are asked to be seated at 1:30 PM as the ceremony will commence at 2:00 PM. This year, 608 is pleased to welcome His Worship Neil R. Ellis, Mayor of Belleville, as our Reviewing Officer. SUMMER CAMP STATUS - Up-to-date lists of Cadet summer course selections will be posted over the next few weeks indicating a Cadet's selection status (not including dates). A date will be set up for parents to come in and sing paperwork to allow their cadet(s) to attend summer camp. Any questions you have can be directed to our staff members.
There will be NO CADETS on Wednesday 16 May, instead cadets will be attending the "RMC Sunset Ceremony" in Kingston on Thursday 17 May. Cadets will meet at the armouries at 5:45 PM. *More info to follow.

TAG DAY(S) - The results for this past weekend's Tag Day(s) are in! Our Cadets raised $3627.74. On Wednesday night, Cadets who participated on the weekend had their names placed in a draw to win a prize. 5 Cadets were selected and each received a $10 Gift Card to The Quinte Mall. the winners were; LAC Fricke, Cdt Williams, LAC McRae, LAC West and, Cpl Wilson. Congratulations! PROMOTIONS - A big Congratulations goes out to 5 Cadets who were promoted this past Wednesday from the rank of Air Cadet (AC) to Leading Air Cadet (LAC). These Cadets were; LAC Switzer, LAC Watts, LAC McRae, LAC Hennig and, LAC O'Brien. Also, congratulations to FSgt Fraser who received his St. John Ambulance First Aid Qualification. |
