Check back often for the latest updates on news and information about upcoming squadron activities
As you may know, because of the current province state and the number of COVID cases, the Cadet Activities Program is no longer an in-person activity (see Frag Order attached). Only Haliburton will be an in-person trial-run. Therefore, we are working on an Alternative Delivery Model which will be conducted individually at home and online. Official documentation such as joining instructions and schedule will be distributed to all RCSU Central units before the end of the month. I would like to take a few moments to give you as much details as possible for the upcoming CAP. The idea is simple, the cadets will aboard a “Cadet Cruise Ship” for March Break. In order to start the “cruise”, they will need to create their own account on the Extranet to have access to the file repository. In the file repository, they will find the Central folder where the “cruise” daily theme and activities as well as the “Cadet cruise Passport” will be available for them to pick and choose what they want to do for the day. The framework of the CAP Alternative delivery model is as follows:
The attached document titled CAP – Daily overview, gives you an idea of activities and challenges available to cadets. The themes for each day are as follows:
For the challenges, the cadets will self-record their participation via a “cadet passport” available on the file repository. They will receive points for each activities they participate in. Bonus points will be allocated for social media posts of their participation. The passport will be via MS Forms so it is easy to complete for the cadets. The point system will have three levels: bronze, silver and gold. The level achieved by the cadet will show on Fortress the week after the CAP. Cadets who receive the Gold level will be invited to a virtual meet & Greet with the RCSU Central CO and CWO. The detailed plan, joining instructions and the cadet passport are still in the works. They will be all completed and approved by RCSU Central leadership team at the end of next week. We will distribute the official documentation as soon as we receive it. ![]()
