> FRIDAY 14 OCTOBER and SATURDAY 15 OCTOBER Tagging is VERY IMPORTANT to our Squadron. The money we raise tagging helps to purchase equipment for our Band programs and to offset costs for trips and training activities....so let's all take part in this activity! **Cadets taking part in the Orienteering Competition on Saturday, should plan to TAG on Friday** >> Cadets tagging Friday 14 October are to meet at the Armouries at 1630hrs (4:30 PM) in C-2 Dress with their Cadet Parka. (see CATO 55-04_Annex-A) > Please eat dinner before Tagging. > You will be given a Tag Box and assigned a location. **We NEED PARENTS to drop Cadets off at various locations in Belleville. We also need parents to pick cadets up around 2100hrs (9:00 PM) and return them to the Armouries.** >> Cadets tagging Saturday 15 October are to meet at the Armouries at 0900hrs (9:00 AM) for the morning shift and 1130hrs (11:30 AM) for the afternoon shift in C-2 Dress with their Cadet Parka (see CATO 55-04_Annex-A) > Please eat dinner before Tagging. > You will be given a Tag Box and assigned a location. **We NEED PARENTS to drop Cadets off at various locations in Belleville. We also need parents to pick cadets during the day at 1330hrs (1:30 PM) and 1730hrs (5:30 PM) and return them to the Armouries.** Parents must check-in when bringing their cadets to the Armouries Friday evening, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon for tagging as they will be required to transport their cadet to the assigned location. **Cadets who are in High School may count tagging and helping with Poppy Day towards the Community Volunteer Hours component of their High School Graduation Diploma** LEADERSHIP WEEKEND > SATURDAY 22 OCTOBER and SUNDAY 23 OCTOBER > waiting final approval from Detachment > All 608 Dukes are invited to participate especially new recruits. Accommodations are at the Trenton Air Cadet Summer Training Centre (TACSTC) facility at CFB Trenton, and all meals will be at the Yukon Galley on the Base. > Lt Heath has planned an exciting program including the Flight Simulator, Gymnasium, Pool, and the Air Traffic Control Tower. (There is even a possibility of a meeting with 'THE BIRD MAN!', the base's Falconer) SATURDAY 5 NOVEMBER > We are very fortunate to have a second fall GLIDING DAY. Let's cross our fingers for SUNNY SKIES!!!! > LAC badges have arrived and will be distributed to the Cadets who were promoted in June and did not receive them.
THURSDAY 13 OCTOBER > GROUND SCHOOL STARTS at the Armouries. RANGE > Cadets interested in firing the Daisy Air Rifle can start SUNDAY 16 OCTOBER from 1200hrs (12:00 PM) to 1400hrs (2:00 PM) at the Armouries. FRIDAY 28 OCTOBER > First Brass and Reed Band Practice > 1800hrs (6:00 PM) to 2100hrs (9:00 PM) at the Armouries POPPY DAY > All local Cadet Units take a turn assisting the Legion to distribute Poppies. 608 Dukes have been assigned the evening of FRIDAY 4 NOVEMBER. * Lest We Forget * MESS DINNER > Due to scheduling conflicts our Annual Cadet Christmas Mess Dinner is now WEDNESDAY 7 DECEMBER at the Officer's Mess, CFB Trenton. This Wednesday Is A CO's Parade, Cadets are to wear the C-1 UNIFORM (see CATO 55-04_Annex-A Numbered Orders of Dress). This Wednesday is also our Camp Presentations Night. Many of our Cadets who attended Summer Training Centers will share their experiences.
