In order to financially support the day-to-day operations of the squadron and the many activities that we do throughout the training year, including day trips, weekend exercises, special parades and awards/trophies, it is necessary that the squadron fund raises.
Tag Day is our squadron's major fund raising activity. Normally we "Tag" twice a year; once in the spring, and once in the fall. Tag Day this fall will be held on FRIDAY 14 OCTOBER and SATURDAY 15 OCTOBER. Each Cadet is requested to sign up for at least one shift. Shifts are as follows: > Friday 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM > Saturday 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM > Saturday 11:30 - 4:00 PM Please return the form the cadet was given no later than WEDNESDAY 12 OCTOBER indicating which shifts they are available for. ** CADETS WILL BE TELEPHONED ON THURSDAY 13 OCTOBER TO CONFIRM THEIR SCHEDULED SHIFT** Cadets are to wear the C-2 Dress (see CATO 55-04_Annex-A) if the weather is cold please ensure cadets bring their cadet jacket/parka and black gloves. > Any cadet who has not been issued a uniform should wear black pants and a white shirt. If you have any questions feel free to contact Civilian Instructor (CI) C. Haigh at (613) 966-3723. This Wednesday (5 October) is a sports night. We will be having a special guest to lead our squadron in a unique activity. A large towel is required for this activity. Thank you Lt Heath for arranging this activity!
Also, this sports night, Pipe Major J. Douglas from CFB Trenton will visit at 2030 hrs (8:30 PM) to speak about teaching Pipes and Drums to interested cadets. > Interested parents are welcome to join in! "I believe music is an important aspect of Cadets, instilling morale and pride within the Squadron." - Capt K. Dixon Cadets from all local Corps and Squadrons have been invited to train with us. Instruments for both a Pipe/Drum Band and a Brass/Reed Band have been requested from CFB Borden. Their arrival is anticipated towards the end of October. |
